February's Events

On the first Friday of the month we have a literature table outside M & S.    On Friday 3rd February it was one of the quietest days we have ever had but we had one good conversation at the end.

On February 26th William Horsburg the pastor of Ryedale Evangelical Church spoke on Proverbs 23 v 17-18
"Do not let your heart envy sinners,
But be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day;
For surely there is a hereafter,
And your hope will not be cut off."

On the 19th February Jonathan Bayes preached on the "mercy package" from Psalm  36 v 5, 6
Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens;
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the great mountains;
Your judgments are a great deep;
O Lord, You preserve man and beast.

On Sunday 12th February Nick Garrity spoke on where does faith come from, why do some believe and not others?
2 Thessalonians 2 v 13 "But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth"

Gareth Crossley on Sunday 5th February spoke on Christ the Rock from Exodus 17 and Number 20
"and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ."  1 Corinthians10 v 4

Speakers during January 2012

Sunday 29th January William Horsburgh from Pastor of Rydedale Evangelical Church spoke on Titus 3 v5- 7 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,  whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

22nd January Steve Harding from Hamilton Evangelical Church preached on John 12 concerning the different reactions to Christ

15th January Nick Garrity from Minehead spoke on Luke 4
It's Good News are you qualified to receive it?
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

8th January Frederick Hodgson from Whitby Evangelical Church spoke on Psalm 79
How long, Lord?
Will You be angry forever?

1st January Gareth Crossley spoke on Philippians 2 v5 ff
 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,  who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,  but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
